Montego Bay is located on the North coast of Jamaica with a lot of sheltered bays that are protected by natural coral reefs. The coral reefs protected the beach from the buffeting waves, giving sunbathers calm, pristine, warm tropical water to swim in and enjoy some water sports activities.
Montego Bay marine park is a protected marine environment that promotes sustainable fish stock, protection of fish species, protection of the coral reef species, and a healthy marine ecosystem. Over the years the marine park has provided some of the best snorkeling sites for swimmers and divers to enjoy. You will see some of the diverse species of fish and corals on your trip. You can take along one of our fish and coral species charts and tick off the species you encounter on your snorkeling swim.
Montego Bay Snorkeling Sites
The snorkeling sites are located as close as a few minutes from the beach, but the better sites are located a bit further and require a boat trip to reach them. Some of the most popular snorkeling sites are located close to Doctors Cave Beach, Airport North, Buccaneer Beach, Montego Bay Beach, Unity Hall, and Great River Bay.
Doctors Cave Beach is the most famous of all the snorkeling sites because of the history behind the beach. Sir Herbert Barker, a famous British Osteopath visited the beach and later published an article boosting it by declaring that the waters have curative powers and that he was restored to good health after bathing there. He said the waters could cure several ailments. People flocked here from around the world for its supposed curing powers.
Cruise Ship Passengers
We provide snorkeling trips for cruise ship passengers docking at the Montego Bay Cruise Ship Terminal. The snorkeling sites in Montego bay are located close to the cruise ship terminal, so less travel time and more time to do other stuff while your ship is in port. We offer pickup ad drop-off services for our cruise ship and hotel customers.
Snorkeling Boat and Snorkeling Equipment
We provide you with a qualified crew who have years of experience teaching and supervising snorkeling trips. We provide all your dive equipment including snorkeling masks, life jackets, flippers, etc. You all get a fully equipped boat and crew, who will take care of you throughout your snorkeling trip and be your snorkel guide. We also provide refreshments on some of the snorkeling packages so please let us know if your want us to provide you with refreshments and light snacks.
